Privacy Policy
Effective 20 October 2026
Yusee gives you a second Canadian phone number. For that number to work, we have to keep a few things: your email address, your number, and the messages that pass through it. This page says which ones, why, and what never leaves your device.
Who we are
Yusee is operated from Canada. For any question about your personal information, write to [email protected].
What we collect
- Your email address. It identifies your account and receives your six-digit sign-in code. We do not use passwords.
- Your Yusee number and its state: active, held, released.
- Your text messages. The content of texts sent and received on your Yusee number is kept on our servers, along with the other party's number and the date. That is what lets you find a conversation again after changing devices.
- Your incoming calls: the calling number, the time and the duration. We do not record the audio of your calls.
- Your plan and payments: the plan you chose, the amount, and transaction identifiers from our payment processor.
- Your colleagues' email addresses, if you invite them to your team.
- A notification token, if you turn notifications on, so your device can receive alerts.
- Technical signals used to spot abuse: how many checkouts were attempted, how many lines were created, and when.
What never leaves your device
- Your contacts and the notes on them. They are stored in the app's local storage. They are not uploaded, not backed up to us, and we cannot read them.
- Your fingerprint or your face. Face ID and Touch ID are handled by iOS. The app receives a yes or a no, never your biometric data.
- Your app passcode.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not trade it, and we do not pass it to data brokers. We never use the content of your messages or your call history to show you advertising. We do not read your conversations, unless you specifically ask us to look into a technical problem.
We never hold your card number. Payments are handled by our payment processor, which receives your card details directly; we only ever see the outcome and the last four digits.
How we measure this site
We measure traffic to this site to understand which pages are useful and which are not. This measurement sets no cookies on your device, does not use your IP address to identify you, and cannot recognise you from one visit to the next. It tells us nothing about you personally, only about how the site is used overall.
We run advertising to make Yusee known. The advertising cookies that come with it are only set after your explicit agreement, requested through a banner on your first visit. Until you accept, no advertising tool is loaded on this site. Declining is as easy as accepting and takes nothing away from the site. You can change your mind at any time by writing to [email protected].
If you accept, we also keep on your device, for at most 90 days, the identifier the ad network adds to the address of the link you clicked. We use it only to know which ad led to a sign-up. It contains no name, no address, and nothing that describes you. Declining stops it being kept, and changing your mind erases it.
Who it is shared with
We rely on suppliers to run the service. Each one receives only what it needs:
- Telnyx — telecommunications carrier. Carries your calls and messages. Receives your number and those of the people you talk to.
- Supabase — database hosting and authentication.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Resend — delivery of sign-in emails.
- Cloudflare — website hosting and email routing.
- Apple and Google — delivery of push notifications to your device.
- Meta (Facebook, Instagram) — measurement of our advertising, only if you accepted advertising cookies. It then receives the pages of this site you view, never your messages or your number.
Some of these suppliers process data outside Canada. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists, your messages and history stay available to you. If you release a number or cancel your subscription, the number is held for you for seven days, then returned to the carrier. If you delete your account, your data is erased within thirty days, except what we must keep for accounting or legal obligations.
Your rights
You may ask for access to your personal information, for it to be corrected, or for it to be deleted. You may also ask for a copy of your data in a readable format. Write to [email protected]: we answer within thirty days.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or your province's authority.
Children
Yusee is not intended for anyone under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this page
If we change this policy in a significant way, we will tell you by email at your account address before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this page marks the current version.
